Ok Living on a boat isn't as bad as I thought it would be.
The only thing I really need is a desk. This set up that I have is getting on my last nerve since I have been working online for about 6-8 hours a day. But we will get to the desk soon.
I have learned that before we buy ANYTHING we have to measure to make sure it fits through the door. Then once we get it through the door, you then have the problems of finding room for it. So now I carry a tape measure with me when I go to walmart to measure things before I buy it.
Tomorrow we head back to Charlotte paperwork is finally ready to close on the house. At least that will be done with. We will be gone for a few days, then when we get back I have several Interviews to go on. Tom still won't be able to go to work. The dog won't let him out of her site for more than 30 minutes... I don't know if it's the fact that she likes to be with him, or that he takes her to the back room of the store where all the guys hang out.... (a/k/a Then men's den) and they feed her all kinds of goodies.... I think its the goodies she likes.
We are both losing weight from walking everynight. We don't have Cable or Satalite TV and won't be getting it any time soon. We decided to be outside instead of TV Junkies. This is a big change for us. I am shocked that we aren't in withdrawl. After all for 5 years we had ALL the cable channels since I worked at Time Warner. Now we have zero.. None... Bunny ears are useless here. But walking kills time and its good for us.
Our Little Seal/Otter (still fighting over this one) hasn't been back. they said usually he doesn't come up into the marina.
I will update in a few days when we get back into town.

Seal or Otter?
Today has been a busy day for us. We took stuff to storage and organized the stuff we had on the boat.... The storage is here at the Marina, so we can walk to get what we need out of it. That makes it pretty convienet for us.
We got things put where we wanted them, which when you don't have much space you have to be organized. But we got everything put away. We got the water hooked up directly from the tap now, so that we don't have to turn the pump on here everytime we want to use the water.
Boodles has been a pain in the ass. She won't let Tom out of her site. When he leaves, she cries. It breaks your heart to hear her. Yesterday when he took me down the street to my interview, she escaped from the boat, and went swimming. He picked her up at the store where she was looking for him. She had to open the door herself by jumping on the handle to get out. At least she didn't get hurt when she was out, we got lucky. And she did eventually dry after her swim.
So now we figured we have to get a kennel to put her in when we leave. She ought to love that. The only way he would be able to get a job is to find one that will allow the dog to go with him. Today he went out without her, and she was whimpering so hard that she was shaking. So I had to take her out to find him. I say she is spoiled.
We walked around L
amb's Marina today and saw this cute thing swimming in the marina. I saw it was a river Otter, Tom thinks its a seal. While I tried to explain to him that seals don't have tails, he didnt believe me. This is what it looked like. Which means it wasnt a seal.. But I looked up seals and did learn that they are along the coast, so in a sense he was correct.

So we sat there and watched him for awhile, he was comical. At least he didn't set his sight on us and try to attack us like the seagulls did yesterday at Wally-World. I know where Hitchcock got his idea for the movie "the Birds".... he watched the sea gulls.
Tomorrow we're going downtown Elizabeth City and walk around at the free Dock they have there. We haven't gotten our fishing licenses yet so we can't go fishing but we can walk Boodles. The good news is, we won't be sitting watching TV much cause we only get one channel. Which right now has willy Wonka and the chocolate factory on ... Not my type of show. But I did sit through Charlie Brown Valentine.
Well it's walk time for Boodles again. She is crying for her dad so It's off to the store for me.

Moving Day

Well today we move. I have everything packed and ready to go. All I am waiting for is Tom to come home and load the truck. But Tom being Tom has to finish up some things before he leaves. He won't leave till all his jobs are completed 100%. Which means that today he is waiting on a headliner for a truck so he can install it. At least that is what he told me while I am here working away. My guess is - he's out having breakfast with the guys, then visiting people.
But got his garage cleaned out and ready to go. That was a huge task in itself. He has so much equipment in there that needs moved. Some of his buddies are coming to help load the stuff I can't lift.
Well back to packing and waiting on the truck.
It's hard to believe that we are finally ready to go, and in a few months we will start our journey.
Bets are on - who will be fishbait 1st?
