Fishing for Computer Hardware

I finally got a job. I interviewed for this job in February, and they called this week. I still have a week before I start to work, so I’m trying to get everything done before I have to go to work. My job is only 3 miles away I could walk, but I won’t.

We still have the El Camino since it didn’t sell at Charlotte. We have it up by the road, and got several people stopping daily about it. We were advised by several people that before we drive it through town to let it sit so the local cops will see it and recognize it. This will prevent us from getting pulled over “just to check out the car”. I’m sure it won’t prevent me from getting pulled over for speeding.

But leaving it parks isn’t a problem for me, the gas prices at $3.39 a gallon, and the car sucks gas as soon as you hit the gas pedal. Parking it saves me money.. it can stay parked. And the boat is staying parked also till gas prices come down a little.

Boatside visitor:

Yesterday on one of the boat a few down from ours they found a water moccasin snake on the swim platform. Now don’t worry about me, that snake is gone—it became someone’s dinner…. There are some people that just won’t waste anything.

But the boat it was one was a boat identical to ours, and now I will have to watch for these critters when I go out. At least me and Tom both agreed it was a snake. Sometimes we don’t agree on animal types. (Example Seal/Otter).

Yesterday we cleaned. It took us all of 15 minutes to clean. I sent him to Wal-Mart to get a vacuum for the boat this is what he come home with…..

Yup he is the one that vacuums, I’m not using it. For his cars he bought a Shop-Vac, it’s big, has attachments the whole 9 yards. For the boat he chose an ashtray cleaner. WTF….. Tomorrow we’re cleaning the truck, we get to use the big-boy’s vacuum! WOOO HOOO!!!

Today I learned that some things don’t float – a perfect example - Wireless network card
We had a bad storm here over the weekend. It knocked out my wireless network card. Yesterday I ran off to Wally world and got a new card, it worked kind of iffy, but still was able to get on most of the time. I don’t know where the routers are that I am picking up signal but since that storm things have been kind of shitty.

So with my new card today I was working, lost signal - went to move my antenna which is positioned outside the window … and the card flew into the harbor and sank.

Tom Goes Fishing!

I called Tom to come get in the water to find it... But he refused - seems that the snake story is still fresh in his mind. But he did come down and tried to fish it out with a magnet, it didn’t work. You know for someone who fished all the time, you would think that he wouldn’t bitch as much as he did fishing for my USB adapter! But he bitched about HOW I could manage to get something from the inside to fall into the water… (I have many talents that most people don’t know about). I manage to do the impossible some days!

Since I bought the last card that Wally World had I had to go to radio shack and get a new one.

Tom – Zero

I don’t think I should have the dog counted on my side… after all she was the one that missed the dock and fell in… But he still counts it on my side. He is taking bets at the store about WHEN I will fall in. I think he has a feeling that it will happen soon.

He did inform me today that before I leave the boat, I MUST have Fixodent applied because he’s not searching for my teeth if they fall in.

Ok got my new card.. Back online! YAY! Tom only agreed to me getting a new card because taxes are due tomorrow and I needed to get them done. You can tell who has to pay taxes every year we are the ones that wait till the very last day to do them. So more money that we have to spend out.. And it never ends.
