It's PARTY TIME!

Tom had to go to Charlotte for a few weeks.. I don't know what I'm gonna do.. He is my material for this blog. Not only is he gone, he took the dog with him. Now I have nothing to blog about.

Of course when we left, it was storming.

His buddy called him, he is swamped with work and Tom went to help him out. He took most of his tools, says that he needs them- personally I think its so I don't remodel the boat while he is gone. He does know me so well...

Boodles is going to Doggy Day Care there, Lorie will watch her while Tom works, because- believe it or not, Jeff's dog is more spoiled then ours. I know, that's really hard to believe huh? But Sheeba is really, really spoiled. She is a German Shepherd and patrols her area well. She has a daily routine that she does daily going to several different neighbors at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now she won't eat everything, she has sophicated taste buds. If she doesn't like what they are eating she will move on to the next house. And yes, this dog does lick her butt like other dogs, but is choosey about what foods she eats. She is more picky than Boodles.

Shell gets Daddy-time.
She planned ahead. Daddy has a list of things to do to her car this week.

Of course of all weekends that I had to take Tom, it had to be Race weekend in Charlotte. There are more cops, and cars in that side of the state than in the whole state itself this weekend.

I dropped him and the car off (still trying to get rid of this car) and got out of town between races. I got back yesterday, he will be there 2-3 weeks, and if the car doesn't sell there, he will head to Butler for the car show at the end of June.

Since our title finally came back from the state, (it took a year for them to straighten it out, you don't really want to know my opinion on state employees)...... we can finally get the Explorer on the road! Of course now they get it back to us with gas prices at $3.92 a gallon here...... Luckly for me, I only drive 6 miles a day to and from work. So a tank of gas will last awhile.

Neal's work Bike

Neals play cycle

I stopped at Nicole's on the way home to visit. Neal got his motorcycles, and his license. So Soon he will be zooming around on his cycle. Nicole starts her job tomorrow. She had a ton of paperwork to fill out for this place, for her stock options, and her insurance, 401... She was a bachlorette all weekend too. Neal went to the mountains to see his granny. He should be home tonight I think he has to go back to work tomorrow also. I know I do. I did get to see Nicole's Degree!

It's Man Season

Boodles Dirnks water.
Notice the lazy dog is laying down.
Maybe shes not drinking, maybe she is trying to fish.

Boats come in- filled with men! And I have a front row seat!

See, I see all the boats coming in, and then all I have to do is look out my window to see. Sometimes I get lucky and they are young men with tight jeans on. Most of the time they are just old fisherman.

Today the Coast Guard was here doing inspections on boats that came in. There were 2 boats filled with men in uniforms.

As you can tell I was excited to see boatloads of men, that I forgot to open the screen to take this photo... But Don't fear little friends --- I only made this mistake once....

See No screen blocking the view.. How ever... They weren't in a good place to take photos.

I sat with the other women here and we watched them.

They didn't stay long, but it was the highlight of the week!

I worked on the website all weekend for Lambs Marina it is being uploaded to the site now. Thanks to Neal. He would rather me send it to him then try to correct my mistakes. It's easier for him that way. Although he would tell you I can make some big mistakes!

Boodles and Tom stories... Since Tom is mentioning that I'm always picking on him in the blog.... Today I will share a Boodles story. For Dinner me and Tom ate 1/2 of our dinner.. Boodles had a whole meal made up of 1/2 of Tom's Dinner and 1/2 of my dinner... We had to run outside and put the canvas on before the storm, and left our meals on the table. She helped her self.

The Potato Festival

Today I went to the Potato Festival in town. I went with a friend up the street. It was a beautiful day.

To update the blog I went to their website to see what I could learn about it and tell you about..... When I went to events, I got this message:

Schedule of Events
Coming Soon!

Well so much for that website.... .

The first thing that you see are signs - No Dogs Allowed.... The FIRST Booth was full of Great Danes. From the Great Dane Rescue Society...... Folks, It goes downhill from here.....

They did crown Ms. Tator Tot this morning and I wasn't there... Its for 6 and 7 year old, what an achievement. Miss Tator Tot. The dress code for the pageant? They had to dress in their best tator-picking attire!

The main thing that was the attraction was the cookoffs of "anything but potato"...... MMM...... maybe it's me, but something doesn't sound right... If you are having a Potato Festival, wouldn't everything be about Potatoes?

But it was fun. They did have about 20 booths and we walked through the street, and to the river and sat for awhile.

The River

Old Fashion Ice Cream. Made using Modern Equipment

Blackbeard

Ok This wasn't part of the Festival, but it's still pretty cool.
It has Lights on the side.

CLICK ON THESE PHOTOS FOR FULL SIZE PHOTOS.

But who knows, It may of been Blackbeard's!
It even has a cup holder for the drink.

For all of you waiting on the update on Tom- He didn't go to the festival. He was spoiling the dog. Since the water was up today, the dog had to be lifted on the boat. For those who don't believe me when I say that Tom can't be out of the dog's sight, these pictures proves my point.

Notice that Tom is putting the dog on the boat, She is not facing him. Once she got on the boat she turns around and see how excited she is to see him?

Tom's Wrist Pain

Ok, it was bad enough with the "knee pain" - which started when I said get a job. Now it's his wrist that is causing him problems. I think it's time to trade him in on a new model.

He doesn't know why his wrist hurts, mmmm I have some clues for you --- Notice how he sleeps. I think he sleeps this way with his hand holding up his head so he can snore louder.

Now the dog on the other hand.... She won't have a wrist problem... This is how she sleeps...

She snores too.... But she does look cute when she sleeps like that. Infact at this moment she is sleeping on her back.
Storm which is Michelle's dog sleeps normal most of the time. But even she can get some Xrated photos of her sleeping.

Maybe Tom should take lessons from the dogs on how they sleep, and he wouldn't have wrist pain.
And Yup, he does still have this "trick" knee. It only hurts when the word Job is mentioned.

Storms finally gone Things back to normal

Finally the storms are gone.
Things are back to normal. Seems that some things never changed.

The water level is back to normal

Amazing how within 24 hours the water left the area and I can get back off the boat.

Things are back to calm/peaceful again.

Tom is back working on the El Camino. Now the stupid thing won't start. Says its not getting gas to the engine. Sigh.. I will never get rid of this thing. I think this picture engraved on the window should of been a clue about this car.....

Update: car problem is figured out - there is no gas in the tank to get to the engine. Tom isn't sure if he ran it out, (3 miles =6 gallons????) or someone siphoned it out. either way that puppy is out of gas. Lucky for him it's parked at the gas station!

It didn't even get sold on Ebay. Not one bid.. :(

This is not the area to sell anything this pricey. Seems the top paying tops around here are a little above min. wage. That's for the people that actually work in this area. Many are collectiong some kind of welfare it seems or only work for booze money.

We go next weekend to get the Explorer. The paperwork finally came in from the state on it. It's been a year since we applied for that title. Now I'm not a big fan of state workers in this state. that Southern Hospilitality Attitude is common with state workers. If you have ever dealt with this state on titles, or anything you would understand.

I am getting information to send him to Butler in June. Since the car has to be towed, we needed the explorer to tow it. My truck would never pull the hills going to PA with it. Hopefully it will be sold before then and he won't have to take it there, I will have to see what I can find around here to take it to.

Today I start my new job! I will stay at this job. It's with the City of Elizabeth City. It's still only about 3 miles from here, 2 blocks from the other place I was working, but this is what I am used to doing. Getting bitched at on the phones by customers. I understand PUC and FCC rules more than I understand squid parts, and mahi and resturant foods.

I'm sure Tom and Boodles will stay busy today....

Nicole Graduates! We are Proud of Her!

Update: Nicole got a job offer! This is the one that she interviewed for and they called her the day after graduation, and she actually had the degree! She's waiting for the actual offer, which should be here today. WAY TO GO NICOLE!

Today's Graduation Photos taken By Neal Anders

and one by Shauna ...

Nicole Graduated today with a Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Science. (yes I did have Neal spell it for me). She has finally gotten through college! All these years of working on reports, and essays are finally over with. I know that she is glad.

She got the Degree from Campbell’s University which is south of Raleigh. It’s a private Carolina Baptist College.

Now it’s time for her to find a job in this field which shouldn’t be hard since many of the drug companies have plants near Raleigh. She did go interview on one job. They requested her to change her vacation to Greece to June, which she did – then she hasn't heard back from them. (see update). They have wanted to go to Greece since they got married, then decided to wait till she graduated. So right now we don’t know when they are going to Greece.

Here are some of the graduation photos that Neal took of her this morning at Graduation.

Stormy Mother's Day

Today has been hell with the storms here. Tornado's, Rain, Thunderstorms, Flooding, wind... it's all happened around here.

The wind has been rough, bring the water into the marina. Which means that I can't get off the boat without allot of effort.. Tom even had trouble today. It was so high that it overflowed the banks and flooded places.

The one one the top is behind the bathhouse. That is a road that is flooded.

this picture shows how high the water is to the dock. In some places it did go over.

Even Tom Struggled to get on the boat!

the sky before the storm.

The barrel that was heading towards our boat. Luckily it didn't hit the boat. Tom and others got it out of the water so that It didn't hit a boat.

After the storm this is how the sky looked....

Of Course Somethings are just too overwhelming for some people.

All the photos that I took today, can be located here.

Judy and the Highschool Years

I got called back from the city today. I got the job with them. YAY!!!!

I just need to take in a few things then off to the drug test..

One of the things that I need is the high school diploma. Well hell, that has been missing for years.. So I called the school to get my transcripts so that I can prove that I graduated. They faxed it down while I was at work.... and Tom had a good time sharing my information. It seems I wasn't a good student. Here are some cool facts about my transcripts.

Somehow I have to figure out HOW to turn this Transcript in with Dignity.

Number in graduating class: 417
My rank: 407 :(

GPA: 1.349
IQ: 119 (IQ was above average)
Common sense in HighSchool - ZERO

Senior Year:
Days missed 35
Classes failed Zero Although I did get all D's .

Junior Year:
Days missed: 22
Classes failed: Zero

Sophmore year:
Days Missed: 5
Classes failed: 3 Gym, Chorus, Home Ec. (like that one is a real shocker to anyone!)

9th Grade:
Days Missed: 17
Classes failed: 2 Algebra and History

Summary:

  • I would of had a higher score if they would of counted Detention. After all for me it was a regular class.

  • They gave me a diploma so they didn't have to deal with me the next year.

  • The more days I skipped, the better my grades were . Hell I did better not being in school. I got better grades.

  • I honestly don't remember highschool years.. Does that count?
  • This is probably why I don't get the invitations for the class reunions, if they go by class rankings, they run out of stamps before they get to my name!

So I am soooo opened for suggestions on how to turn this paper in and not look like an idiot..

Seems that the job wants the high school diploma not the college transcripts. I was on the dean's list at college.... It makes a difference when you are paying for classes -- you do better.

It's a shame they won't take my reports cards in place of the transcripts cause my reports cards were A's and B's! Thanks to my Bic Pen! Believe it or not they did Some B's in Red Ink!
