Michelle came to Visit

Michelle and her Dog Storm came to visit for a few days. She got laid off from her job, so she figured that she would come here and spend some time with us.

She had a blast. She came with her friend Angie and they took the dog to Doggy Daycare, then went to the beach for the day. They also went crabbing on the docks here and caught quite a few crabs. Me and Tom had to work while they were here, but did get to spend some time with them..

Here is her first video that she made of storm at the beach.

They did go Crabbing. To catch crabs you use chicken legs. This is how they looked when they "baited" their lines.

The crabs really eat the raw stuff

This is one of crabs that they caught right beside the boat. Lucky for them - Susie was home she was brave enough to get the crab out of the net for these wussies....

From the net it goes to the bucket..

This is just a few of how many that they caught.

They stopped at the park along the highway after you cross the bridge.

This is shell there.

One the way to the beach, they stopped at the Monster Truck - They got their picture taken at Gravedigger. Now we all have our photos taken in front of Gravedigger's truck.

Michelle and Storm at the Beach.

Of course storm liked digging in the sand.

After a day at the beach, Storm napped to get back her energy.

Michelle walking the dogs at the docks.

Michelle, got my graceful genes. She fell down the steps in the boat. Doesn't it look pretty.

In other news.. The Explorer FINALLY is legal and on the road. YAY! Waiting for the title now so we can sell it soon.. Tom will be taking it to Charlotte next weekend for the car show. He will be towing the el Camino there. I decided that me and Boodles will be staying home. He will leave a day earlier and I will have to go get her from Doggy Daycare. So we will have a bonding weekend. Or we may just head to Raleigh to spend some time at Nicole's .. who really knows.

Tom sides with the dog

Yesterday I went to the store and bought the dog a treat. I thought that she would like the treats. I also bought her stuffed animals to play with.

The treats looked good and I figured she would have something to do while outside watching Tom while he was working on the car.

The Treats that I bought the dog.

I thought she would like the outer flavored wrapping on the chewable bone treat.

But the dog peeled back the outer wrapper on the bone. She didn't eat the outer part of the chewie, but peeled it back and refused to eat it.

Peeling the wrapper off the bone....

When I asked her what she was doing, I got the "DUH" Look..... She ate the chewie bone after she peeled off all the brown coating....

So I told Tom that his dog was weird and that she was peeling off part of the chewie that I got her. Now I gotta ask myself WHY did I open up this can of worms with him, I know he is gonna side with the dog every chance he gets... His Logical Reason of Why she is Peeling off the brown outer part of the bone?

"Maybe she thought you cooked it and she was just taking off the burnt parts of the food like she has seen me do many times"......

So, since there is no argueing with him on that The only thing I can say, and show everyone is...

Sometimes you are bigger then the wave.....

Sometimes the wave will kick your ass.

I knew eventually I would be able to use this picture of us at the beach...

Now not to say anything bad about his dog... After all he seems to think she is VERY logical.. In case you are wondering what she is doing in the next photo, I will tell you.

It was hot yesterday so we gave her a bowl of ice cubes. She usually loves ice cubes. But for some odd reason, Ms. Logical Dog is burying the ice cubes. She burys allot of things if she don't want to eat them at that time. It doesn't matter if she is outside or not, We find things buried all the time. Under pillows, blankets, inside shoes. She has issues.

The neighbors were fishing this morning and I stopped by to talk to them. I did catch a crab with the net. It was a proud moment for me. There was 2 of them and I got one. I was so excited, ready to pull out my camera and take a picture till they told me, the one that I caught was the dead one. The live one that was snacking on the dead one got away. So no picture of that one.

This is what he caught. And you wonder why swimming in this water isn't for me? These are the creatures that come out of this water. It wasn't a snake but more like a huge slug. YUCKY..

27 years

Yup..... we are celebrating our 27th year today. Well Ok, so I'm blogging, it's not much of a celebration is it.

Actually he's soothing the nervous dog. They are putting off fire works and she is scared to death. So all his attention is focused on her.

We went out to dinner tonight. It reminded me of how I cooked our first meal 27 years ago. Well, ok Let me rephrase that... It tasted like How I cooked meals for the last 27 years.. (is that better Nicole?)....

We got the girls next door to babysit the dog. They were so sweet, they stayed outside and played ball with her while we were gone - She was fine when we got home. They kept her busy while we were gone. I don't think she really missed us. It's sad when you can't go out because of a dog. Tells you who runs this boat.

Fact - This is the first time we left the dog with someone while we went out to dinner since we moved here. We've been here since Feb.

Now the dog is spoiled... that's a fact. Who would of ever thought that we would be paying fees for doggie daycare for a dog.

This weekend tom will be working on the car, getting it ready for the show. We got the tickets yesterday for Lowes Motor Speedway Auto Fair, he's going to get the engine done so it's more street friendly. In simple terms that I understand- It's gonna cost me money. But hopefully it will also sell this time around. It does look better with the new tires and wheels on.

And Finally the update on the Explorer. This could be a soap opera, with trying to get this registered and titled. Michelle went back to the DMV today with the paperwork corrected, signed by a JUDGE, and everything that they requested, and paperwork from Raleigh stating that all paperwork was correct. So what did the DMV people do?

Sometimes you gotta say WTF? The NC DMV Division plays their own games, and changes the stupid rules in the middle of the game. Reason today??? Shell has the Power of Attorney, which was notarized, and signed, and they said they needed a copy of Tom's ID to go along with it. No where on this stupid form did it say that we needed to send that. In fact I even called DMV to see if i needed to do anything else with the POA....
The ID was shown to the notary, and signed and sealed. I hate this state.

What i fantasize about is taking the Explorer to the Scrap yard (which I can't cause there isn't a title to it) --- and having it crushed into a square box shape scrap of metal and sending it to the DMV office with the paperwork - with a note - check-mate...... You win. Its getting crazy now. If I wasn't so pissed, I would probably laugh about how stupid this whole thing is. ...

They never said anything about this the other 13 times we took the title in there and they nit-picked stupid things about it. In fact on this side of the state, they said we needed more paperwork, but Charlotte said we had all the paperwork, then changed their minds, and kept rejecting it for stupid things. Like "white-out", and misspelling... I hate this state some days. But all the paperwork came from the courts and they did it wrong. Maybe when it's all over with I will send them a bill......

How long has this been going on? Paperwork for this vehicle was STARTED in NOVEMBER 2006 ==== Talk about slack ass people...... So we have a vehicle that is now 1/2 the value from when we started this crazy trail of paperwork....

So now the paperwork is coming to us, we're gonna try it back at this DMV office, see what they say about it now. Since these DMV offices seem to do things different in each county. So we will try again on Monday.. I can hardly wait to see what they reject it for. ------ The story will continue.. All I want is a title so I can sell it..... Right now we can't even junk it without the title... Go fricking figure....

How to use the Sink.........

We scrubbed.... (well, WE didn't, but hey, it's MY blog, so I will take the credit for helping if I want to)... anyhow, he scrubbed the canvas on top of the boat. Seems that when it rains real hard, (like Hurricane forced-rain), you know the types of rain that you get maybe once every 2-3 years...... well the boat leaks when it happens. Actually he got dripped on during the rain, so he put this repair top of his list.....

So he decided to scrub the canvas then spray it down with scotch guard. Which, it really hasn't rained since then, so we don't know if it will work. But at least the canvas is cleaned.

For those of you who missed this view of him, I thought I would add it for you. Ahhh the wonderful memories of these views of him...

The boat looked so weird without it on. It was only off a few hours, then he put it back on. But now that's done for a year. Next year it will need done again.

Why didn't I help? He didn't want me to.. Oh wait, I did help. I held the hose and sprayed it off.

Yesterday at the library, in the bathroom they had this sign on how to wash your hands.

I especially liked the part of "please do not try to turn faucet." And actually it took 7 seconds. I tried it twice. Maybe this message would of been more effective if they painted a pictures of hands in the sink, so you knew where to hold your hands to get water on them.

This is the sink, now how could you even try to turn faucet?

Personally, If you have to put up a sign on how to use the sink, maybe you should buy a sink with handles that you can turn. The toilets don't have a not above it saying, "please don't try to flush, just stand up and move your fat ass out of the way so they can flush themselves!" So why the sink?

The library is fairly new, they have some cool rooms, one room is the Wires Room. That's what the door plaque says. Yes the Wires Room has a door plaque. Go figure. It is a nice library though, and has computer access at lunch time. So I usually walk down there and get online. I even got a library card in my own name... Wooo Hoo...

Today I walked around town a little, found a nice older El Camino, about a 1968 or 1969. it was a little rough - well it has potential, once you take off the duct-taped imitation vinyl top. Yes their vinyl top was made out of white- duct tape. so I scratched that one off the list. Although for a imitation top they did a fine job with it. Then as I was standing there, I was calculating what needed replaced, repaired, and just a miracle. I guess if it was priced right, it would be a good car to restore.

Tonight there was a beautiful sunset. This is why I deal with stupid signs and yucky bugs - views like these at nights. I ran outside in my jammies to the deck to take these photos, and damn if someone didn't catch me out there.

This was so much prettier in person. Tom didn't get to see it, I fed him early and he went to bed at 6:45pm. So I know he will be up at 3am and then can't go back to sleep.
