Design Flaws Causes Boo-Boo's

Shell's dog - Storm

Well So far my knee has been healing very slowly. I am still limping and in pain alot with it. It has been a month since it was done and I would think that It would be better by now but some days I think I'm going backwards instead of forward. This really suxs. Plus I'm getting kind of pissed that it hasn't healed yet. I have no patients with crap that don't go my way. I want it fixed now.

So I have one good leg, Well I had one good leg left. Tonight I run into the wall and now it's wounded.

THE DESIGN FLAWS IN A BOAT

You know if I ran into the wall - there is a cute story that goes with it. I had to turn on the lights 0n since there isn't a main light switch it wasn't designed that way you have to hike threw the darkness to find the light then reach up and turn it on. So my boo-boo is from a design flaw. It's not that I'm a klutz.

This isn't the first time that I have done this, but I'm in a pissy mood tonight and need something to bitch about.

So damn, I think I may be stuck in the house again for a few more days. I'm so sick of not feeling well. I have gained all my weight back cause I can't walk far. This really suxs.

Hopefully in the next few weeks my knee heals better, I always have the option to go to physical therapy but I just didn't really want to, but I may have to if it doesn't clear up next week when I go to the doctors again.

Tom and Poochie are getting sick of me not feeling good either. They think I'm just sucking it up and dragging this on, but really I'm not. It really does hurt. My knee feels like I've been kicked in the knee cap by a horse.

Of course some dogs will look at you like your lying.... One perfect example is this look:

Again this is shell's dog.... She's really not as innocent as she looks. She's really- really not.

Now time for the WTF Story:

Any how Today I had to get some things done. Tom lost his Social Security Card so I had to go get it replaced for him. I did learn that there is a limit of 10 cards per lifetime. They won't give you anymore after the 10th one. GO figure..... So I went in the office - I was the only one in there. I had to check in with the guard that was there - and he gave me the instructions for the office... Which he read off the sign behind him. Then I had to go to a computer and push in #2 stating that I was there for a card replacement - and it printed me off a receipt. # 2409, then take a seat.

As soon as I sat down they called me. Now The reason for this long story is the WTF? If I was the only one in there, why did I have to go through all this crap? And Why did the guy had to read everything off the sign for me? So I got his card ordered but the crap you got to go through.

I also went to the Library today to get a form faxed. Gotta love Locals. I handed her the paper - and the fax number- she asked if it was local number...Guess that 1-800 that started my number wasn't a good enough clue. I said why yes, it's a local number. I didn't mean to confuse her. But I did. She had to get help to send a fax. But for a toll free number it cost me a buck to send it off.

The Boat Ride

You know he's thinking - How fast can I make her feel icky?

Today he took me and the dog out on the speed boat. I have figured out why they call it a speed boat. Needless to say, I didn't like it at all. Him and the dog loved it, I felt woozy the whole way.

While it looked like it was going to rain
it didn't. It was a nice day so we went out.

But we went for a ride for about an hour, it actually wasn't all that bad, but then you got to remember that I don't like sun, heat, water or bugs. So I'm really not in a good area for my dislikes.

This is downtown Elizabeth City.

The dog loved the ride. she was a brave little sailor. She didn't once look like she was gonna blow her cookies like I did.

We went under the bridge going into Elizabeth City, It was pretty cool. At least in this boat we don't have to have the bridge open, we can slide under without them opening it.

It was a fun day out, we did have fun, but we were glad to be home. Even she looked kind of happy to be home.

She was on deck watching him bring the boat in.

Now after I fed him, and her they fell asleep, as I am searching for aloe for the sunburn that someone didn't tell me I was getting. I even had sunblock on. :( This is why I hate sun.

The Doctor's Orders - "Shut up" -- Here we go Again

Ok I went to the Doctor's today for my post op checkup. He told me to shut up again. Seems that I need to talk less so that I can rest my voice more. Tom loved the news. He loves my Doctor.

Everything looks fine, I just need to rest my voice more during the day. I have to talk less than an hour a day if possible. Well that's possible I guess. I have done it before. At least everything is going fine, they just want me to rest it more, he said it still sounds strained a little and he can hear it getting weak as I talk.

So back to not talking for me. That really doesn't bother me much anymore. I am home most of the day alone anyhow. They did tell me it will take 8-12 weeks for it to recover totally. If I am looking into going back to a job like I had - looks more towards 12 weeks. Sigh.....

Next week I go back for my knee.... Which BTW it's still swelled. It still hurts to walk on it. I give up. Totally.

And Tom realized that my warranty has expired and he can't get a refund. lol

So While I was in Norfolk fighting traffic on the confusing interstates, Tom and the dog were out boating. Yup - He hasn't taken me on the boat at All - but the dog got to go. You know I'm not even going to go there about how shitty that is. He did say the dog loved it.

I was over water also - seems that I crossed the Elizabeth River in Norfolk several times to get to the doctor's office. I think I would of gotten there quicker by boat. We came past that when we brought the boat home. But somehow I think that he had more fun than I did.

So It's back to being quite again. Tom is happy once again!

PS -
Chelle - I did proof read this - there is no threat doctor like the last post.

PSS
Karen - see what you started with the proof reading??? Gee thanks.

News in a Small Town

This photo of the local newspaper should say it all.

Yup you are seeing it right.. There is NOTHING - Zip- Not a thing for news today. Sigh, just another boring town.

I knew there was a reason that I slept all day. There was nothing going on.

I am slowly getting back to normal. I go to the threat doctor tomorrow for my 3 week check up. Hopefully this will be the last time that they stick that tube threw my nose to view my throat. While it's not really painful, it is uncomfortable.

Last week I had to stay off my leg, this week it's doing much better. I am not limping as much, Tom says that it will probably take a few months before it gets back to normal. I am staying off of the handicap ramp since that is what messed me up last time.

So soon I will be able to go back to work if I want to. I am so bored. Today I even used my new ez bake oven to make a cake. I am still waiting for someone to come install it. I need shelves built to do it. THe thing about this place is most people are lazy. No matter how much you are willing to pay them - they are lazy. We are still waiting for the jerk to finish the seats for the boat. It's been several months since he has been working on them. I have someone coming tomorroow to look at the shelves that I need to get the EZ bake oven built in. Once that is in - I can then get the new carpet laid. I've been waiting on getting this done to get the carpet done.

Baby Devin is getting bigger. This is him snoozing on Neal's leg. We haven't been up to see him in a while. We need to go. Nicole goes back to work soon, and he will be starting daycare. Michelle spoiled him while she was there last week.

Of course shell also knows that when the baby sleeps you can snooze too.

There is a picture of neal sleeping when the baby sleeps - Well you don't wanna see that, just like you don't wanna see pics of tom when he is snoozing. It's a cross between Al Bundy and Homer Simpson. How is that for a visual.

Tom is still working, Dog is still at doggy daycare, and things are still the same. We are going away in a few weeks as we're going out boating for a few days in a few weeks. We just need to find a doggy sitter for the pooch. We aren't taking our boat, were going with someone else and don't want to be bothered with the dog. The dog should be thrilled.

I mean who wouldn't want to keep her, she is great entertainment when she sleeps. She sleeps weird. Right now she is sleeping in my bed sprawled, when I go to get her to move she will growl and tom will side with her. Another usual night here.

Karma Pays A Visit - And it's a bitch

Yesterday was the girls birthday. Since Michelle was visiting Nicole, they went and bought a cake together to celebrate their birthdays. It was cute. It said
"Happy Birthday To us". So it makes you wonder how could that get messed up.......

Seems that they bought an expensive ice cream cake and didn't think that it would need to be in the freezer. so basically they destroyed the cake. As you can see from the pictures the result wasn't pretty. Now you may be wondering why there are 2 pictures of this...

Seems that Michelle did them she spelled one of the words wrong. I think it was cute, but they really didn't. On one of them it says Being a NATURE blond instead of natural blond. Sheesh.

So now you are probably wondering why the post title is about Karma. I laughed so much about that yesterday. Thinking that only a blond and her sister could do that. I mean I really laughed. Today, they are both laughing at my expense. I am on total bed rest for 48 hours because of my leg. I have been healing well after my knee surgery, been working out to get it to heal, the other night I was walking exercising it on a handicap ramp because the slope was jjst enogh to work it better..... Now my leg is swelled up twice its size, and even my toes are swelled.

Yes, I got handicapped using a Handicap ramp..

Karma can be a bitch.

To make it worse, I have to use the bath house because the toilet quit working this morning. So till Tom looks at it, it's off limit.

Karma is a bitch.

Hopefully I will be able to get the swelling down and can get back to walking.

At least I can talk again! I just can't walk anywhere to talk to anyone. At least I have the dog that will listen to me when she gets home from Daycare.

I'm Speechless

No Really I am Speechless.

Tom is one Happy Man right now.

Well - Till August 19th I have to be quiet... No literally total silence for at least 5 days.. then i can talk 10 minutes the 6th day... and build from there.. So the 14th i can speak 20 minutes - Which still has to be broken up into 10 minute intervals.

While it may not sound like a big deal, it's really hard not to talk. I went and bought a little white board that i can write and erase messages and I send text messages out with the phone. But i can't say anything.... That worked well till today I had a slip up, I was half asleep when Tom asked a question and I answered him.

So What have I done now so that I can't talk.

I had polyps on my vocal cords - from years of smoking.... It made my voice raspy/hoarse/ and painful. So I had to quit smoking and have them removed.

This is the way it lookedThis is the before and after shot... Looks pretty gross. But now it's fixed and i can finally swallow without a lump in my throat and I can lay on my back and sleep without it feeling like my throat is closing.

Now when I spoke to the Dr he told me that I would have to be total silence for 3 days... After surgery, I learn it's 5 days. I still wonder if Tom had something to do with adding extra days.

I will have a new voice after I can talk.. Who knows, I may be able to be a famous singer! I will call and sing to everyone for their birthday's as soon as I heal!!!

Gown that could of fit me And Tom in it

Now this surgery is a week after having knee surgery to repair my torn cartilage in my knee. I am still recovering from that surgery, After that surgery I was on the boat till Bod and Debbie and Ashley came to visit, that was the first day I was off the boat. I must say that knee surgery was more painful than throat surgery. But I'm slowly getting back to normal with my knee. I have been walking a little more each and every day.

Top Left- Torn cartilage - Top Right - Fixed
Bottom left Before jagged part of some bone .
bottom right- Fixed

knee marked so that they didn't do wrong knee.

Tom is sick of waiting rooms, He likes the days off. But soon work is going to be suspicious of these days off for surgery. He has used that excuse once a week for the last 2 weeks. But They had an opening for this last surgery so I grabbed it, so I can recover from both of these at the same time.
Tom Sleeps

So while I recover - Tom is being well - Tom. He's been out playing with his little speed boat - he goes out quite a bit, I haven't gone anywhere on it, hell I'm lucky to get off this boat let alone getting on another boat with my knee.

He also has been dealing with the pooch. He was in shock last week, she stayed home with me during the day. She didn't want to go to daycare, She camped out with me. She never does that. He no longer has to pay for her to go to doggy daycare. They said she doesn't eat, drink or go potty while she is there, she waits for tom to come back. so they don't charge us. Works for me. At least I don't have to have her with me everyday. We had to get a baby(doggy sitter) for her Friday cause we had to be in Virginia at 5.30am. Poor Tyler had to be here at 3.30am to doggysit.
Dog - Spoiled
