Technology And Tom ...

Tom doesn't grasp technology well. Hell if they had a rotary dial Cell phone he would own one.

So tomorrow we're leaving for PA. Me and Shell both have GPS on the phones, it's pretty much a straight shot anyhow, but just in case we have the GPS as backup. But was that good enough for Tom? Hell no- we had to print out the maps for him.

Which will we use? The GPS on the phones. We just printed for whine control. Doing things his way makes my life easier.

We got everything packed. Tom told Shell NOT to pack a lot. She brought 4 bags for a 4 day trip. Go figure. Well she is only taking 3 bags to PA, and she has each bag over packed so that it weighs 50 pounds each. Even the laptop bag is heavy.

But then we have 3 bags for me and Tom and Diva Dog. The Diva has her own bag that has to go. She can't live without her blanket which by the way says Princess on it on, and her toy monkeys. her own special food, and her breakfast treats. So she is ready to go. But then Diva will go anywhere that her daddy goes.

So Tom is snoozing - and getting ready to go. And Markie is being Markie - Just got off the phone with him. Maybe I need to visit the doctor for blood pressure pills before seeing him. :)

So we will cya over the weekend.

Water Logged

I am sooo sick of rain. We've had almost 8+ inches of rain in the last 3 days - and last night 50+ MPH wind gusts, and it was absolutely horrible.

Tom didn't go to work cause the main road flooded, so we stayed home. Plus the fact he had to keep an eye on his speedboat.

But looking at this picture from the newspaper - some people didn't stay home.

What we have learned:

1. THE DIVA DOG has to pee the most during the hardest downpour of rain. She will wait till she hears it raining really hard then wants to go out. She won't go out unless it's pouring.

2. The boat is only truly waterproof on the bottom. The top of the boat will leak with excess rain. (praying for nice days this weekend to dry out inside - and to waterproof found leaks)

3. Daytime TV sucks. There is nothing good on TV during the day. Especially when you can't go outside.

4. The Idiots that built this boat has drainage from the top of the boat running across the part where I have to get off. Every time my little short legs tries to get off the boat when its raining, i look like I peed myself.....

5. When you are stuck in the house, there is never food that you WANT to eat.

6. Scotch guard won't protect you from major rains. While up till now it's worked great, this week we found out - it allows water to seep through.

7. Rain does come down sideways with heavy winds. Glass Windows won't stop rain when it's coming sideways.

8. A wet Stinky dog will lay where you don't want her to dry off. My pillows were her favorites.

9. Diva Dog will shake dry only when standing next to me. EVERYTIME

10. 2 people can use 15 towels in a matter of a few days when it's really raining outside.

11. Wet towels are heavy when you have to haul them to the laundry mat.

12. Tom and Diva can actually sleep 23 hours in one day. I think they broke a record yesterday for snoozing.

13. While The Coast Guard Base will close for bad weather, Walmart doesn't.

14. Paychecks will not make it to the bank to be deposited in time when the payroll lady can't make it to work. (that was a shocker to me - hope she never takes vacations)...

15. Tom misses Shell, and her ability to make Good Tea.

So hopefully tomorrow it clears up, and we can dry out. now since we know where we have leaks we can get them fixed so we don't have this problem again. We never had rain like this before, and the boat didn't leak before like it did this time. So I have a huge Honey-Do list started. Plus we got to soon get ready to go to PA.

You know, actually it could be worse, this could of been snow. :)

The Rough Ride

Ok this storm is kicking my ass already and its not even here the whole way yet. Its suppose to be a combination of the remnants of the hurricane - or tropical storm meeting Mr. Nor'eastern. And the two are going to dance in our area for a few days while tossing us around like popcorn in a popcorn popper... (hey gotta admit that is a good description)....

So Mr. Nor'eastern has the water level down, the boat is sitting lower which has the lines slack leaving the boat able to move more then usual. Which makes my stomach feel like it does after I cook. Which actually I did cook - not a good choice of meals with a queasy stomach. We had Sauerkraut ... makes me wonder if I'm really all there upstairs. (NO COMMENTS NEEDED)

So we have a ton of rain - Tom took Diva Out, and of course she needed the umbrella.

Hopefully Michelle notices that this is a lousy picture and brings my camera back when we go to PA. (HINT HINT)

Not only is it pouring rain, we have to keep running up to the speed boat to run the bilge pump. Which Tom does, and he comes back soaked. Diva doesn't go, she don't like getting wet.

The worse of the storm should be here tomorrow and Friday, which we don't know if Tom will be able to go to work, cause part of his route may be flooded. Which doesn't hurt his feelings, he came home early today, cause me and the dog felt bad.

I did learn something today, he really doesn't listen to me. I told him I was sick from all the movements - and that I needed him to come "clean up after me when I blow my cookies from queasiness".... he said sure I will be right there.... lol Tells me he doesn't listen to me, cause he would never agree to this normally. Hell I bet I could of asked him to rub my feet and he would of said yes..

Nicole had pictures of Devin made at Daycare. I love the first one.

He looks so much like Neal. He is adorable. We haven't been up to see him in awhile, won't get there till Christmas since we're going North for Turkey Day.

Ok, I'm going back to lay down and see if I can make it for the next two days with these storms. Saturday it's suppose to be nice, so we may be able to head out to the beach. We may take the metal detector and see what was coughed up from the ocean. Maybe more than that nail that we found last time!
