The traffic coming home was horrible, and the ride was made longer by the "beer farts" from the driver of the vehicle. Thanks Dink for taking him out the night before and letting him drink beer. I wish I could bottle up the results of the night of drinking and send them back at cha. But we did make it home just in time for me to make dinner for everyone.

Some of us rested well at their mom's house, well ok you know me by now, of course I took photos of them sleeping.

Michelle and Ashly weren't bored, they both had their laptops and connections to the Internet, and that is what they did most of the day

But when she wasn't begging - she was relaxing..

Or looking out the window.

She did fall in love with Uncle Bob cause he tossed her a ham bone, and he didn't cut it up into little pieces like her dad did. She was in heaven with that bone. She liked Bob better than Kay. She kept trying to bite Kay, which Tom told her that she wasn't biting she was trying to kiss her.. HA! Even Kay didn't fall for that one, I think the sounds of the dog's jaw clamping together was a good clue.
Before we left Tom was going to run the vacuum, but couldn't figure out how to turn it on. I'm guessing that he knew but didn't want to do it, so I ended up vacuuming the dog hair up so that Grandma didn't have to. I need to domesticate him more I think.

We got lost on the way up and the way back actually in the same spot, which is kind of sad - we had 2 GPS's and a print out of Google Maps showing the way, and still we made wrong turns. Of course the Driver will blame the co-pilot but if you think about it , HE was the driver that made the wrong turns. We had to cross bridges to go through tunnels under water, which I don't know why I thought that they would be Glass tunnels and I could see the water, I was disappointed that they were like going through the tunnels in Pittsburgh. How boring.
Hampton Roads Tunnel which goes under waterBut we did make it home and Sunday we felt like we were given a huge can of Whoop-ass. We were exhausted. Shell had to leave Sunday and make another 6 hour journey back to Charlotte.

But now things are back to normal here. I made an appointment to send Tom for a sleep study so that he can see why he quits breathing during the night when he sleeps. And no it's not from the pillow I use to make him quit snoring. He wakes up as soon as that pillow hits his face..

That appointment isn't till a few weeks so it won't be that much longer. He has to go to the Doctor to get a referral then he can go for the night. So maybe I can be his nurse for awhile after he goes for this sleep study..

He's afraid that he won't be able to fall asleep there.. lol If you followed my blog - you notice that's probably not going to be a problem for him, the guy can fall asleep anywhere.
But I'm not sure if it's lack of sleep or I have finally killed his taste buds over the years of bad cooking, but last night he said that he really liked my meatloaf- and even asked for seconds. That is the 1st time in 27 years that he even asked for seconds on my meatloaf.. So he really needs to go for this sleep study- he's starting to hallucinate.
The form to fill out for the sleep study is 10 pages long. I will be up many nights filling out this stupid form. I guess I will have to study what he does to be able to answer the questions, as I usually sleep on the couch so that I can get some sleep without all the snoring. I would of thought that the fool would of wanted to fill out the paperwork himself, since last time he gave me paperwork to fill out and his paycheck now gets deposited into my bank account not his.. :) .. But he didn't learn his lesson from that one so I will answer these questions for him.
We really do need to come home more often. Maybe once Tom gets better and we both can get a better night sleep without him snoring we may be able to travel more. We really did have a nice time. We got to see everyone, even if it was only for a few minutes before they got mad and left not to be heard from again over the visit.
